Put on Your Lips and Pull It Together

Well it's almost been a month since I have last written and I want to start by apologizing. This month has been crazy! Between my best friend getting married and my newest nephew being born I can't seem to find time to sleep let alone write! So now that all the hustle and bustle is over I'm back!

For this post I wanted to talk a little about lipstick! If you know me at all then you know that I rarely leave the house without any on! I think my love for makeup began when I started dancing. I got to see how much makeup can do with a little knowledge. It could make 10 girls all look identical or make identical twins look completely different.

I was that girl that loved to play in her mothers make up. I spent hours perfecting tracing my lips and eyes only to look like I had just stepped out of a horror fest.

Well fast forward to today and after countless hours, which could probably total weeks, I can wear a lip and not look like I ran into a wall.

This past summer I decided to take the plunge and try a bold lip. Well let me tell you that I have no clue what I did before purples and berries had graced my lips. I loooooove them! Classic red had always been a staple since dance for the simple fact I always had it laying around. So this year I have gone maybe a little overboard collecting all different colors.

This is a swatch list I have done and it's grown since then! Here are some of my favorite looks from the past few weeks!

This is Brazen Berry. Its great with a nude gloss on top for work. It's not so over the top that your boss with think why in the world their employee is wearing purple on their lips but just bright enough for people to know that you yourself are boss.

This has become my go-to! I am IN LOOOOOVE and I don't care who knows it! Seriously, I love this color! Matte Berry is the perfect day to night color. It also works with the reds in this scarf while I could also work it with a bright pink top. It has yet to let me down!

Then of course my classic red. This one is called On Fire Red and that's just it. It is on fire! Every time I wear this people always ask me how I got lucky enough to pull off such a bright red. As much as I wish I could say it was genetics, it isn't. Every one can pull off a bright red but you have to find the one the works the best for you. However, I have to say this one may just work for every single person. I have used it on close to 10 people with all different skin tones and each one looks flawless!

So I hope this gives you an idea of what you need to pull off the bright colors; CONFIDENCE! Play with different shades and don't be afraid to do something a little daring. Go out there, get what you want, and have a pretty lip to go with it!

Stepping out and Breathing

Over the past two months my life has completely shifted gears. I went from living at home with very few worries to living in an apartment with my best friend with all the worries of the world. Let me tell you, moving out was the best decision of my life. It's been a blast! It was also very good timing on my part!

Over the past two months I have had some ups and downs for sure! Lucky for me I have had my amazing best friend and roommate here for the ride. I just needed a break. Well guess what? BREAKS OVER!

So here we are....ready for the future! As I'm putting together my next blog post here is a little about what I've been up to!

Last weekend Ben Rector was in town and as per usual put on an AWESOME show! The top and necklace both came from a local boutique that you can find on  facebook under "Boutique 356" and girls let me tell you...She is AMAZING!! The pants are black pixies from Old Navy and the shoes are old from Target.
This picture is horrible quality and I apologize for that but I just loved this outfit so so much! The vest is from old navy along with the shirt and jeans which are both old. The scarf is the plaid blanket scarf from Crystal Feather Boutique!

And then a fun one with my roomie! I hope yall are sticking with me and looking forward to the future of me and my blog! I love my followers!

Also I recently got an Instagram for this blog! (Cue a "finally")  so you can find both with the username of "freedomofstyle1"

The Best Weather is Vest Weather

When most people think of Fall they think of Football, The PSL, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and bonfires! While all of that is definitely true I think of..... CLOTHES!! (I mean what else was I going to say as this is a fashion blog!)
I love the anticipation of new clothes hanging in my closet just begging for those crisp cool mornings to arrive!
One piece that is haunting my dreams is this vest from JCrew. In the past it has been near impossible to get your hands on but recently it's in stock! I think JCrew stepped up production! I've had this vest since the beginning of the month and I have pranced around in my room with it on at least once a day since. I love how versatile it is with the colors and print. I think it's going to be one of those iconic pieces for years to come. Below I have pulled a few of my favorite outfits to wear with this vest. As the Fall and Winter arrive I'm sure you will see many more added to this. Send me any ideas you have as well!

Here I have styled it with a light colored Chambray with lilac jeans (that I couldn't find a dupe for! So sorry!). I put an ivory statement necklace and my watch as well as some cognac suede oxfords. I think this would be perfect for meeting up with friends for coffee or shopping. It's just something you can throw on quick and head out the door while totally looking put together!
This next one I love! Well, I love them all, let's be honest. I just think this one is a blast and so fun! I have this with hot pink jeans, a leopard cardi, and my gold glitter flats! Everything has such personality and when you throw it together it just goes so well! Pair with a hot pink lip and you are good to meet your girls for dinner!
This is my comfy look. These shirts are my new favorite! They are AMAZING! They are a light sweatshirt material but have a nice cut and a zipper in the back  to add some flair. I added in a statement necklace with some color and my high waisted jeans. I can't wait to wear this to the local high school football games!
This I had to throw in for fun! I'm a HUGE Tennessee Vols fan! (laugh now but I bleed orange) This shirt is listed as a red stripe but it is most definitely orange. Online it looked orange but I was quickly let down after looking at the color name. Orange is not the easiest color to find. After reading comments stating it was orange I figured for the comfort level I would risk it. Oh how happy I was to receive this BEAUTIFUL orange top. I can't wait for cool Saturdays watching some Tennessee Football!

Fall Favorites

I don't know about y'all, but I. LOVE. FALL! It is seriously my favorite time of year (right behind July 4th of course).

While wrapping Summer up I have lost my head! (If you find it let me know!) I had a few things come up and I just couldn't bring myself to write. I just needed some me time for right now. So now that the break is over, let's get back to this wonderful time of the year!

So obviously to ring in this time of year I love to buy a few pieces during the Fall release. The next few blog posts will be documenting what all I have started collecting a few outfit ideas for each one. I'm still working on a photography set up and how I'm going to do that, but I will upload some photos for sure!

My first piece is going to be......

SHOCK!

The JCrew Herringbone Quilted Puffer Vest.  Yes, everyone has done this probably but I am SO excited for this piece to finally have a home in my closet! I want to try a few new original, yet classy, ideas for it. If you have any ideas send them my way! You can find me on twitter @freedomofstyle1 or on insta on my personal account @eajolley4! I would love to see your ideas!

Starting over.

Over the past few months I have been going back and forth on whether to pursue blogging or not. Obviously by the title you can guess that I have decided to go for it! We only have one life so why not jump in and make a splash. Even if I fall flat on my face I have nothing to regret.

So here I am, starting over with this. A blog probably 4 people have read. Oh well. We all start somewhere! Happy primping!

Who am I.

Obviously I know who I am.
This is more for you.

I'm a 23.
I love fashion and makeup.
I went to cosmetology school.
I work with the community.
I think I'm funnier than I am.

In case you didn't catch on I LOVE America.

I find inspiration in every day life. From colors in the sky to the stylings of the public. (Obviously I can't talk much about my job but I will say I work with the public so I see a little of everything.) the way people smile and carry themselves to the way they talk is incentive into the way I create my art.

ART.

That is what I like to think of my wardrobe. I put effort and passion into it all.
I research. I learn the history.

It is what motivates me to write.
